The Bell AH-1 Cobra (Cobra Helicopter) is a two-blade, single engine attack helicopter. It was also referred to as the HueyCobra or Snake. The Cobra was the backbone of the U.S. Army's attack helicopter fleet in Vietnam. Upgraded versions continue to fly with militaries of several nations. A twin-engine version is still in service with the USMC. Surplus AH-1's have been converted for fighting forest fires.
